orange

the picture above taken today is one that I was using to show ways of using adobe CS4 with some creative and media students.
it is only tonight while I was looking at the images that I was using that I realised just how much I have been influenced by the orange advertising campaign, probably some 8 years ago now perhaps more.

the thing is I am getting fed up with them (orange, not the students) at the moment as they have, while charging me more money, cut my broadband connection speed at home as I have supposedly exceeded their 'unlimited' download limit. I use a 20 megabit connection at work all day which is provided by BT which is more than fine.

orange provide my broadband at home. I do work during the evening as well when and the 6 megabit I was getting was ok (even though I am paying for 8 megabit). tonight and for the last month or more I am getting 0.415 it is a bit silly. really hard to work on anything web based.

some people will be pleased to see this

Just thought I would add this as a fair number of people will be pleased that the balloon race (orange) has finished. I still am not sure. I didn't really get involved in following it. I did find the balloons a bit intrusive, but I do know people who thought it was great. I hope that it hasn't stopped people visiting.

orange? balloon race?

well I have to sort of agree with davidthedesigner and his reasons for not being part of the balloon race, it is kind of intrusive. I am also an orange customer, have only ever been with orange. obviously the must have been something that made me choose them, apart form the fact they cover cornwall or at least the apart I live better than other mobile company I was a bit sucked in to the balloon race thing (easily influenced as I was always told at my junior school). it seems to have created a massive amount of web publicity, the fact people are writing about it on blogs all over the place can only make the people at orange very happy.
I have a rare chance of an evening out with carol tonight, so I will have a look again later, perhaps even burst my balloon! to be honest a trip ibiza is not motovation for me I just liked the idea. whether it was an original or not.

beach time

pleased that orange did deliver my replacement blackberry as promised on saturday, we ventured to the beach on sunday. lucky as we are to live in cornwall, so close to so many amazing beaches we often take for granted. the normal camera I take to the beach is off with friend and collegue on the inca trial in peru. so I used the phone to take a few pictures yesterday it's not bad for a phone. I know the picture here is a bit obvious but I like the place the sand and the sea meet. even managed a surf, can't complain.

surprised that I am surprised >>

I mentioned before this week that I have been having trouble with my phone (a blackberry) in fact it stopped working completely today. and after restoring the operation system as well as trying to diagnose the problems myself with it without any luck. I gave up and called orange knowing that the phone was over 6 months old so I didn't expect much if anything, but after the nice customer service adviser spoke to her supervisor a new blackberry will be delivered by courier in the morning!  I am surprised that I am surprised but I am. I do spend a lot on phone bills and use orange broadband for home, but I didn't expect a good outcome. my crack-berry habit will now continue whether that is a good thing is another story. just thought I would be positive about a mobile phone company for a change. I hope I am not disappointed tomorrow.
