sunday

I have been really busy with all sorts of stuff so haven't been here very much, but rather than complain as I feel like doing. I thought a nice picture of the sun over the sea taken this morning as I was hunting down a copy of the observer (my local newsagent had not received their usual delivery) would be better than a load of moaning.
things have been a bit of a struggle this week and I am really hoping that stuff gets clearer (and more fun) in the week/weeks to come.

busy

I know we all think we are busy I am no different. just got back home in cornwall from a meeting in bristol, it has been a long day. have to say what little I saw of bristol today was quite inspiring as was a small section of the meeting today which was a surprise.
I realise now that for so many reasons I should perhaps have gone by train but I never really considered it as I am so used to driving everywhere these days.

it has been a bit of a rush

you may not be at all surprised to find a picture of somewhere french here (picture above, ardeche river shallows). I got back at the weekend and haven't had time to post anything. I am not sure whether it is because I am still too tired or becuase I have just been very busy. still I had a great time in the ardeche, enjoying the best things about french culture and their country. more to come in the next days.

thinking too much again >>

luckily as it doesn't happen that often but every now and again I wake up with the most horrid headache, (nothing suspicious).

today was one of those days. might have been something to do with the planning stuff I was doing late in to last night last. I still haven't got it all done as there is many more hours of planning to do, and what is worse I felt too rough to go it to work today, still don't feel good now. I never learn, when I get busy with something I seem to never be able to stop.
I should have gone to bed early and then would have achieved more today, perhaps next time.

more >> busy stuff

yes you guess it another very busy day but time enough have picked this rose from my garden, it a a special type (not sure the name I will tell you tomorrow). my mum gave it to me last year. I am afraid that is all I have to say for my self. if I get a chance I will post a proper blog tomorrow afternoon, the dust might have settled by then, but the way things are going I can't be sure.

so busy again >> but I stopped for this

another silly, busy day of even more stuff to do, sorry again for such a short post.
I did however have enough time to check the shop that had the printing sets as above that I had talked about in previous post.
this time I bought one (it was 2.99! reduced!) and I have had 10 or so minutes of fun loading it, getting printing ink all over my hands.

(sorry for the very crude picture editing of my mobile number, just thought it sensible)

so busy today >> only stopped for this

sorry for such a short post today, I have been ridiculously busy and only managed to force myself to stop for enough time to take this picture of the sunset.
I was outside my house getting in to the car on my way out to somewhere else!

new bathroom >> well nearly

isn't funny builders & plumbers acquire names like steve, bob, and dave and also have at least 4 spoons of sugar in the tea, rarely coffee, read 'the sun' of 'the mirror', 'the mail' (that was hard to type, I have a problem with the paper, that's a different story) when the want an intellectual view!!
it is with apology that I have not included the fact that there are women builder/plumbers I haven't been able to find one locally, believe me I have tried they are probably happily working all the time.
male plumbers in my area of the country are few and far between so are also impossible to pin down to a day or a date. something always happens to the van or it will have to be next week.

I am only making these largely unfounded claims (or perhaps not) as since january this year the builder/plumber has be evading us. he eventually arrived on tuesday to say that he would be starting today thursday. so he reasonable asked that we strip the bathroom of all the old fitting and tiles, as you can see in the grainy picture. living up to archetype guess what he didn't turn up and now wont be here until next week. so we now have a bathroom with out being able to use properly.

I fully realise in context it is hardly a hardship as more people in the world don't even have access to clean drinking water than do. but it just that if we as designers or creative people in what ever field took months to turn up we would never be employed.

if he arrives next week as now planned I wont say anything or complain instead probably just welcome him in with the offer of a sugary cup of tea! probably whilst I smugly hide behind the guardian, I feel embarrassed now.

I haven't given up

just in case some of you had thought that I had stopped blogging far from it. I have however a whole heap of work to get done this week, so I haven't been able to research stuff and write much. I do have these pictures taken on monday for you, should be back to normal blogging by the end of the week.

corny >> predictable

yes I know this picture is corny and even predictable.
so to set the scene I was rushing home to get in take the dog out, change and rush out again to go and collect ben from the child minders. I was late, as I had spent time at work sorting out .pdf files that were part of re-structuring a web site using a more naturally creative way of doing things. the basis of the idea was to save time for the user by making the front end intuitive and useable so that everything they need is on one page, only what they choose is downloaded so making the website very readable and text light.
any-way in my rush, cross with the rain and the sun at the same time I just glanced at the grasses and noticed the tiny droplets of water. I had to take a photo without my proper camera handy I only had my blackberry. the camera on it is ok so I took some pictures, this is just one.
I thought a while the colours and the water made me relax a little, I stopped rushing still got to the child minders in plenty of time to get ben, happier for the tiny break to look at something corny and predictable, oh well that's me then.

surfing >> moby picture >> Go2

I don't want to turn this blog an extension of my surf web site surf98, but I have to include this picture as I like its composition so much.
it is not a picture I took myself rather a picture I would have liked to have taken. my man on the north coast 'moby' took it this morning it was amongst a few pictures he set to be included in the forecast page of the site. the fence is the border of the golf course at fistral beach, newquay, cornwall. so the picture is taken from a good distance away.

what looks like a black dot is a surfer waiting for a set wave to take, gives the waves a scale.
whilst on the surfing subject I have to say I have been surprised at the positive comment already for the first article in the new magazine I mentioned in yesterdays post Go2. I am sure that a few will have bad things to say but that goes with the territory when you write you views down in ink!

sorry for another short blog today but I seem to be extraordinarily busy at the moment (this is a good thing).
