I have been really busy with all sorts of stuff so haven't been here very much, but rather than complain as I feel like doing. I thought a nice picture of the sun over the sea taken this morning as I was hunting down a copy of the observer (my local newsagent had not received their usual delivery) would be better than a load of moaning.

things have been a bit of a struggle this week and I am really hoping that stuff gets clearer (and more fun) in the week/weeks to come.

finisterre care (st. agnes, cornwall)

for ages now I have been meaning to post about the st agnes (cornwall) based company finisterre. there must be something about st agnes that makes people think in an environmentally friendly way, as some years ago now SAS (surfers against sewage) was founded there in the late 80's early 90's.

anyaway to finisterre I am pleased to be able to post a blog about a company that don't seem to bow down to the high street's surfing stereo type.  providing real quality clothing products in a eco-friendly way. working with natural fibres that are pretty much completely recycle-able materials. winning an observer ethical award earier this year, amongst other awards.

have a look at their site even just as good bit of understatment, as compared to the surf wear big boys.

good books >> a paper full sunday

I normally (and today was no different) fill my home and my head with newspapers most days but especially on sunday. newspapers are full of so much to see, or look at. I think there is a big difference, we have a choice as to what we look at.

two publications caught my eye today, whilst the howies summer catalogue is not a sunday publication I had put it aside to look at today, well worth it simply because as usual the design and production is in my opinion very good. the website is a joy to navigate as far as I am concerned.













the observer book of the weather (free with the observer today) is not just a good well designed informative book but it even quotes from far from the madding crowd (the joys of spring) thomas hardy, so it will bound to find a place on this blog.
