summer?

I hadn't really intended to post today but I got back home cornwall from sussex (& brighton) today and checked through some of the pictures I had taken whilst fleeting from cornwall to the midlands (fri) birmingham airport down to west sussex (sat) for lunch, then spent a day in brighton (sun). brighton is a great place a place I have spent lots of time in the past, my younger sister lives just outside brighton the rottingdean side. was in her garden yesterday afternoon when I took this picture on my mobile. as you can see it is a summer scene without the summer if that makes sense. between showers and a strong wind her son was playing in their garden I just thought this little picture. summed up the summer well this (august) weekend just passed, so well.

I like this sign not necessarily because of the type face or the colours, more the sentiment. it kind of sums up the surf for this coming weekend as well as the lack of my surfing activity of late. have a good weekend.

it has been just one of those days when I have seem to have been very busy, but achieved very little. amongst the time spent trying to do stuff I rushed back in the hope that the weather would bring perhaps a change in the swell patterns in order to at least make plans to get in the water this weekend, but the chances of clean waves are slim in cornwall, well lots of waves but the wrong kind, looking cold and very choppy.

not that long ago I was on the very beaches that are now the centre for the worlds finest surfers competing in the world pro tour.
it is easy to forget now back in cornwall where we have a bit of swell due this weekend and a few of our own contests that the best competition surfers in the world are not that far away in France. have a look at the quicksilver web site if you visit the site in the day time you might even get to watch some of the last stages.
